A Special Edition Fusing Fashion and Timekeeping
Volkswagen Golf Mk1, Passat, Scirocco, Maserati Bora, Merak, Lancia Thema, Delta, Lotus Esprit, and more. For those who grew up in the supercar era of the 1970s, these are the names of many memorable cars. The designer behind these automotive icons was the Italian master, Giorgetto Giugiaro.
The SEIKO × GIUGIARO DESIGN collaboration debuted in 1983 with the world's first analog quartz chronograph (a digital model was also released simultaneously). Until then, watches were predominantly conventional round designs, but Giugiaro's adoption of an asymmetrical layout, among other innovations, dramatically altered the established norms of watchmaking, making it a legendary model. Late last year, a contemporary take featuring five new colorways was released as a limited edition, generating considerable buzz.
The latest release is a limited edition model color-coordinated by "White Mountaineering", a leading fashion brand from Tokyo.
Founded in 2006 by designer Yosuke Aizawa, White Mountaineering is a fashion brand whose concept is "The field in which to wear clothes is all outdoors." It is known for its unique approach to product creation, integrating design, practicality, and technology into a single form, with a steadfast commitment to its own manufacturing principles.
