SEIKO x BAMFORD: The Seiko 5 Sports BAMFORD Collaboration Limited Edition

Seiko Watch has released a limited edition model in collaboration with BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT, a luxury custom watch brand based in London, from its "Seiko 5 Sports" line. Production is limited to 2,025 units worldwide.

BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT was founded in London in 2003 by George Bamford. It has led the field of luxury watch customization with the philosophy of rediscovering the lost art of personalization in an era of mass production.

As a pioneer in offering full personalization of the world's most iconic timepieces, it develops bespoke services inspired by the exceptional custom artisans of the past.

The "Seiko 5 Sports," the base for this collaboration, was born in 1968 and has been loved by people around the world for over half a century as a casual watch. It has evolved uniquely in both function and design, offering a diverse collection under the concept of "5 Styles" that symbolizes today's world of diverse values.

This limited edition model is based on Bamford's concept of "A Journey to Paradise." It aims to express a new world of freedom and refreshment, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Based on the popular SKX series, it reconstructs Seiko's archive models using collage techniques. This is a special model that stands out for its playfulness and originality, customized with a "retro-future" worldview that fuses nostalgia with a sense of the future.

The blue skeleton dial features indices and hands used in designs from the 1980s. The sea-like blue skeleton dial embodies Bamford's message of expressing the duality of two worlds: the visible and the invisible, the present and the timeless.

The bezel insert reproduces Seiko 5 Sports archive designs with a glossy material, fusing nostalgia with a sense of the future. The "BAMFORD" logo is subtly placed at the 6 o'clock position on the dial and on the clasp of the nylon strap.

Lumibrite is applied to the dial indices, hands, and the 12 o'clock position of the bezel insert for legibility. Neon orange is used throughout the bezel, hands, and nylon strap, allowing for a fantastical glow under blacklight.

The case back features the words "LIMITED EDITION" and the serial number, along with the "BWD," the acronym for BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT. Furthermore, the special box housing the watch is a unique design that pays homage to boxes used in the 1960s, printed with the BAMFORD logo.
