Packed with New Technology Inherited from the S-Class: Mercedes-Benz Unveils the New C-Class
Latest Safety and Connectivity Features
The new C-Class features Mercedes-Benz's latest driver assistance systems, inherited from the new S-Class. With Active Steering Assist, lane recognition is enhanced by utilizing not only the conventional stereo multi-purpose camera but also the 360-degree camera system, allowing for more precise lane centering on highways and enabling assistance on a wider range of curves.
Additionally, Active Emergency Stop Assist, which issues a warning and gradually decelerates to a stop if it determines the driver has been unresponsive for an extended period, can now operate even when Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC and Active Steering Assist are not in use.
Furthermore, Active Lane Keeping Assist, which warns and corrects the vehicle's course if it unintentionally drifts out of its lane, now reacts to road shoulders such as grass and allows for sensitivity adjustment in three stages via the menu.
The intuitive infotainment system "MBUX," which has been progressively implemented in various models since 2018 and refined, is also adopted. Voice control is activated by saying "Hi Mercedes."
The vehicle also features AR (Augmented Reality) navigation, a first for a D-segment passenger car sold in Japan. When navigating to a destination, the actual road ahead is displayed as part of the navigation screen, with arrows indicating the correct path, in addition to the map.
