Packed with New Technology Inherited from the S-Class: Mercedes-Benz Unveils the New C-Class
Interior Design Also Incorporates Elements from the New S-Class
The interior design also incorporates elements from the new S-Class, with the dashboard divided into two sections. The upper section has a wing-like shape, featuring new, slightly elongated, rectangular air vents reminiscent of aircraft engine nacelles, creating a sporty feel. The lower section features interior trim that flows seamlessly from the large center console to the dashboard.
Furthermore, to emphasize the sporty feel by focusing on the driver, the dashboard and the vertical 11.9-inch media display are angled 6 degrees towards the driver in a new design. The 12.3-inch large cockpit display, located in front of the driver, is freestanding and appears to float above the dashboard and in front of the large interior trim.
The cockpit display and media display can be customized by selecting from three styles (Gentle, Sporty, Classic) and three modes (Navigation, Assistance, Service).
The steering wheel also adopts the latest generation from Mercedes-Benz. It features functionality that allows for complete control of navigation, various settings within the instrument cluster, and safety assistance systems from the steering wheel.
Additionally, for the hands-off detection function when using Distance Assist DISTRONIC, a new pad with capacitive sensors in the rim has been adopted. This allows the system to recognize that the driver is holding the steering wheel even without torque applied, improving usability.
The "Ambient Lighting" that adorns the interior has also been improved, offering a choice of 64 colors and enabling continuous color changes in addition to single-color illumination. Furthermore, the 25mm longer wheelbase has increased rear legroom by 21mm and headroom by 13mm, enhancing rear passenger comfort.
