'Samba' depicts an immigrant youth facing deportation who connects with people through his unclouded smile. Tackling both "immigration issues" and "burnout syndrome," the film masterfully weaves together bright, humorous scenes with poignant moments to create a heartwarming story.



Omar Sy, who broke through with the César Award-winning 'The Intouchables', plays Samba. He delivers a superb performance as a youth who never loses his smile, no matter his circumstances. Charlotte Gainsbourg plays Alice, a former career woman prone to mood swings, in a powerful portrayal of an emotionally unstable woman.

No visa, no money, no address. All he has is his winning smile.

Ten years in France. Samba, an immigrant youth, suddenly faces deportation after accidentally letting his visa expire. To escape his predicament, he visits an immigrant support center, where he is assigned Alice, a woman suffering from burnout who is on leave from a major corporation and volunteering as rehabilitation. Samba also meets Wilson, a cheerful and caring Brazilian immigrant.

Samba's unclouded smile becomes a magnetic force, and though they clash, the three individuals begin to connect and gradually improve their respective situations. However, one day, Samba is hit with an unexpected and serious problem related to his ID.
