First introduced to the world in 1977, the BMW 7 Series has evolved as the ultimate luxury sedan of its era. This seventh generation marks a significant feature: the inclusion of the "BMW i7," a battery electric vehicle (BEV) that runs solely on electric power, for the first time in the 7 Series' nearly half-century history. Its range on a full charge is approximately 600 km (European specification).
The imposing body design, measuring 5,391mm in length, 1,950mm in width, and 1,544mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,215mm, is characterized by BMW's traditional large kidney grille and evolved Swarovski crystal headlights, which feature a "twin circular" design—a repeated motif of BMW's signature rings.
The sides feature door handles integrated into the door panels, and the rear is enhanced with L-shaped rear combination lights with a horizontal emphasis. The tailpipes, housed within the rear bumper of the gasoline and diesel engine models, further contribute to the luxurious feel.
Inside, the cabin boasts a curved display that integrates a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch control display, angled towards the driver for enhanced visibility. It also features the world's first 8K-compatible 31-inch "BMW Theatre Screen" powered by Amazon Fire TV, offering an immersive in-car theater experience. Additionally, a system allowing for automatic opening and closing of all doors from both inside and outside the vehicle is included.
Furthermore, equipping the optional "Executive Lounge Seating" significantly enhances rear-seat comfort. The reclining relaxation seats offer a maximum recline angle of 42 degrees, and combined with the BMW Theatre Screen, they provide the ultimate luxurious driving experience.
The powertrain for the BMW 740i features the latest 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo gasoline engine, producing a maximum output of 380 ps (280 kW) and peak torque of 520 Nm. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 48V mild hybrid system, delivering a total system output of 380 ps (280 kW) and a system peak torque of 540 Nm.
The BMW 740d is equipped with the latest 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, generating a maximum output of 286 ps (210 kW) and peak torque of 650 Nm. This is combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the xDrive all-wheel-drive system, and a 48V mild hybrid system, resulting in a total system output of 300 ps (220 kW) and a system peak torque of 670 Nm.
