The "EX60," Volvo's largest BEV mid-size SUV, has been unveiled globally. For Volvo, which plans to continue focusing on BEV development, the EX60 appears to be a milestone model.

The EX60 offers three powertrain options. The "P12 AWD Electric" boasts a class-leading maximum range of 810 km, the "P10 AWD Electric" offers up to 660 km, and the rear-wheel-drive "P6 Electric" achieves a range of up to 620 km.

Charging technology has also been enhanced; with 400kW rapid charging, up to 340 km of range can be added in just 10 minutes.

The battery warranty is for 10 years. In its home market of Sweden, three years of home charging are provided free of charge, with plans to roll this out sequentially to other markets.

The EV architecture is based on the new generation "SPA3," controlled by the core system "HuginCore"—the "brain" of the EX60—developed collaboratively by Volvo, Google, and NVIDIA.

By combining cell-to-body technology, in-house developed electric motors, newly designed battery cells, and mega-casting, the company claims to have achieved improvements in energy efficiency and range, as well as a reduction in vehicle weight.

The exterior, with its low-slung front, flowing roofline, and sculpted side body, achieves a low drag coefficient of 0.26, contributing to its extended range.

The interior, featuring a long wheelbase and flat floor, expands rear legroom, making it a practical 5-seater for family use. It also includes a large luggage space, versatile storage, and speakers integrated into the headrests of all four seats.

Furthermore, it is the first Volvo to feature Google's new AI assistant "Gemini," developed through a long-standing collaboration with Volvo. It enables natural, personalized conversations and provides quick access to key functions.

Orders for the EX60 have begun in Europe. Its introduction to Japan is announced for sometime in 2026, with further details and pricing eagerly awaited.
