A Collection Merging Past and Future

NIGO has joined the lineup of Moncler Genius, a platform centered around "CO-CREATION."
He expressed Moncler's world through his own interpretation, merging Moncler's origins in mountains and the outdoors with the iconic and unparalleled off-roader, the G-Class, from Mercedes-Benz. Furthermore, this fusion was accelerated through NIGO's perspective as a creator connecting cultures.
The "G-Class Past II Future," a limited edition of 20 units worldwide based on the G 450 d, features a logo that fuses Moncler and the three-pointed star, along with interior elements and philosophies that reflect this collection.
This project marks the second phase of the collaboration between the two brands, which began in February 2023. The first phase saw the unveiling of "PROJECT MONDO G," where the G-Class was clad in Moncler's signature down jacket, garnering significant attention.
The second installment, announced in October 2024, involved NIGO's participation. The art piece "Project G-Class Past II Future" was unveiled, merging the distinctive quilting aesthetic of Moncler down jackets with the design essence of the G-Class, which has a 45-year history since its debut in 1979.
The "Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future," announced today, embodies that concept as a production vehicle. Mercedes-Benz Japan has announced that this special edition will also be sold in Japan. Of the 20 units limited worldwide, 4 will be allocated to Japan.
Based on the G 450 d (ISG), this special edition features a distinctive exterior design with a two-tone matte paint in olive green and gray. The front face utilizes the special color MANUFAKTUR Night Black Magno, evoking the style of the first-generation G-Class from 1979.
Furthermore, the rear spare tire features a soft cover, reminiscent of the original G-Class, and is adorned with a collaboration logo of Mercedes-Benz and MONCLER, a detail not to be missed.
Inside, the seats, combining checked fabric with premium leather, are particularly striking. This check pattern is a reinterpretation of the typical seat design used in the G-Class when it first appeared in 1979, brought back to life for the modern era. The passenger grab handle is engraved with "PAST II FUTURE," and the center console bears the inscription "One of 20," emphasizing that this is one of only 20 units produced worldwide.
Stars@Mercedes-Benz Ginza, a dealership specializing in top-end Mercedes-Benz models including the G-Class, will exhibit the special edition "Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future" for a limited time until April 15, 2025.
The price is 30 million yen. If applications exceed the number of units available, a lottery will be held. Prospective buyers can apply at authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide by April 15th.
