Exterior and Interior Design Significantly Refined

Volvo's flagship 7-seater SUV, the "XC90," has been refined for a more contemporary feel.
The exterior has undergone significant changes, with a completely new front design. A distinctive feature is the graphical pattern on the front, where diagonal lines extending from two directions overlap.
The overall exterior reflects elements common to Volvo's latest EVs, creating a cleaner impression.
The interior features Scandinavian design, creating a linear, simple, and sophisticated space. Sustainable yet high-quality materials, such as recycled fabrics for the dashboard and seats, are used.
The center display and other elements are now a larger, high-resolution 11.2-inch screen, similar to the new EVs "EX90" and "EX30," improving operability and visibility. Furthermore, regular over-the-air (OTA) software updates mean the car evolves over time.
Two powertrain options are available: the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) "T8 AWD," and the mild hybrid "B5 AWD," which features a new Miller cycle engine and offers approximately 5.3% improved fuel efficiency.
The "T8 AWD" is equipped with an 18.8kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a range of 73 km on a single charge. For daily use, it can operate solely on electric power, enabling emission-free travel. For longer journeys, the combination of the electric motor and engine offers a total range exceeding 900 km.
Ride comfort has also been improved for each powertrain. The mild hybrid "B5 AWD" comes standard with new dampers.
The PHEV "T8 AWD" is equipped with air suspension. This works in conjunction with the active chassis, which monitors the car, road, and driver 500 times per second, contributing to a comfortable ride.
In terms of safety features, to avoid collision risks, the system detects lane departure into oncoming traffic using radar and the front camera and safely guides the vehicle back into its lane. It also helps to avoid or mitigate collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles.
Six body colors are available, including the new Mulberry Red. Pricing starts at 10.19 million yen for the "B5 AWD" mild hybrid, with two grades: the base model and the "Ultra B5 AWD" at 10.99 million yen. The PHEV "T8 AWD" is priced at 12.94 million yen.
