The New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Makes Its Japanese Debut | Mercedes-Maybach
Interior with Enhanced Soundproofing Compared to the S-Class
The interior harmoniously blends digital and analog elements with luxury, creating a unique and refined cabin space through the fusion of a large OLED media display, symbolizing advanced technology, with premium materials and exquisite craftsmanship.
In the "Maybach" display mode of the 12.3-inch cockpit display, rose gold, the brand's color, adorns the area around the gauges and the hands, emphasizing the Mercedes-Maybach's status. Upon system startup, exclusive animations appear on the cockpit and media displays. Two new ambient lighting colors, "Rose Gold White" and "Amethyst Glow," have been added specifically for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.
Furthermore, the seats, building upon the new S-Class, feature a diamond pattern and double seams. The back of the front seatrests incorporate elegant wood paneling and ambient lighting, creating an atmosphere akin to fine furniture. Opting for the First Class Package (4-seater configuration) enhances the sense of luxury with interior wood trim that wraps around the rear seats.
Additionally, the Maybach brand emblem graces the accelerator and brake pedals, headrest cushions, and front seat backrests, while the "MAYBACH" lettering is inscribed on the steering wheel and illuminated step covers.
The executive seats on the left and right rear offer independent adjustment for the seat base and backrest, with the backrest reclining to a maximum of 43.5 degrees and upright at 19 degrees. The front passenger seat backrest can tilt forward an additional 26 degrees thanks to an improved headrest, expanding the forward view from the rear seats. A footrest is integrated into the back of the front passenger seat, and leg rests are provided beneath the left and right rear seats. When both are used, they create a comfortable reclining position that supports almost the entire body. The leg rest's adjustment range has been expanded by approximately 50mm compared to the previous model and now includes a calf relaxation function.
In the 4-seater First Class Package, the rear seats are individual, equipped with a cooling box, retractable tables, and champagne flutes.
The rear doors are equipped with an electric opening and closing function as standard, allowing the large and heavy doors to be easily opened and closed even on inclined surfaces.
In addition to the already highly sound-insulated new S-Class, further noise reduction technologies have been implemented, including additional sound-absorbing foam around the rear wheel housings, increased thickness of the laminated glass used for the C-pillar quarter lights, and the adoption of noise-reducing tires. The active noise cancellation function further contributes to achieving an even quieter interior space.
Furthermore, the DYNAMIC SELECT system, which allows for switching between suspension and powertrain settings, now includes a "MAYBACH" mode that prioritizes comfort even more than the "Comfort" mode.
