The Ghost's Dynamism Clad in Contemporary Design

The Rolls-Royce "Ghost," introduced in 2009 as a saloon with a youthful, sporty character compared to the dignified flagship "Phantom", has now evolved into Series 2. The venue chosen for this announcement was the historicGeneva Motor Show, now in its 84th year.

With Series 2, subtle enhancements have been made while retaining the Ghost's essence. The rectangular headlights have been replaced by a stepped design, outlined by LED daytime running lights. The inner lights also utilize LEDs. When the high beams are activated, they ensure nighttime visibility and, upon detecting oncoming vehicles, an electric reflector moves to mitigate glare.

The tapered "wake channel" that runs vertically down the center of the bonnet, originating from the Rolls-Royce mascot, the Spirit of Ecstasy, at the front, remains a signature feature.

Inspired by the contrails of jet aircraft, this design expresses the Ghost's dynamism. The air vents at the lower part of the bumper not only improve airflow and brake cooling but also feature chrome accents, lending a contemporary aesthetic.

In terms of its chassis, the Ghost now offers enhanced driving dynamics, feeling more like a driver's car thanks to a more responsive suspension and improved steering feedback. Furthermore, the "Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT)," first introduced in the Rolls-Royce "Wraith," is now standard. This SAT system learns driving patterns and, using GPS and navigation map data, considers upcoming road conditionssuch as corners, inclines, and declines—to execute gear changes in line with the driver's intentions.

A New Controller Operated by Touching the Goddess

Inside, the seats have been redesigned, incorporating an electric thigh support function. At the center of the console sits the "Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller," featuring the Spirit of Ecstasy emblem. In addition to traditional rotation, push, and directional inputs, it now includes a touchpad function that allows for operation by tracing a finger over its surface. This touchpad supports pinch-to-zoom gestures and character recognition, significantly enhancing the infotainment system's usability.

The audio system features 18 speakers custom-tuned for the Ghost. To ensure optimal sound quality regardless of external conditions, a function analyzes ambient noise picked up by microphones and digitally adjusts volume and tone, delivering the ultimate musical experience befitting aRolls-Royce.

The Ghost Series II continues to offer bespoke customization, allowing owners to combine interior and exterior materials and colors to their preference. New options for body colors, wheels, and interior trims have been added, further expanding the range of choices.
