Rolls-Royce Ghost Evolves with a More Contemporary Aesthetic; Series II Arrives | Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II
An Extended Model Also Appears, Creating the Ultimate Rear Seat Experience
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has evolved its popular Ghost model, announcing it as the "Ghost Series II." Simultaneously, the "Ghost Extended Series II" was unveiled, featuring an enlarged rear space.
A Rich Array of Interior Materials and Colors to Meet Bespoke Needs
Born in 2009, the Ghost has reigned as Rolls-Royce's best-selling model. Since its full model change to the second generation in 2020, owners have been able to express their individuality even more through bespoke customization. With the Series II, this canvas has become even larger.
The exterior boasts a clean, contemporary design, with new taillights adopted at the rear. Similar to the "Spectre," Rolls-Royce's first BEV, the design now connects from the rear to the sides. The vehicle is equipped with 22-inch, 9-spoke wheels.
Inside, the "SPIRIT" operating system is integrated into the central information display, significantly enhancing entertainment and connectivity. It also integrates with the owner-exclusive "Wispers" application, allowing for remote vehicle location tracking and lock management.
Interior items, as well as interior and exterior colors, can of course be bespoke. Customers purchasing a Ghost reportedly invest an average of 10% of the vehicle's purchase price in bespoke customization. To meet this demand, a wide range of interior materials and colors crafted by skilled artisans are offered.
For the Ghost Series II, in addition to the existing over 44,000 'prêt-à-porter' colors and bespoke colors that create original hues, designers have newly conceived the color "Mastic Blue." By using glass and mica flakes, it creates a sparkle reminiscent of sunlight reflecting on tropical seas.
The heart of the car is a driver-focused 6.75-liter V12 twin-turbo engine, renowned for its exceptional quietness.
Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the maximum torque is delivered at just 600 rpm above idling, at 1,600 rpm. This creates a seamless sense of continuous acceleration and the distinctive Rolls-Royce "Waftability."
Furthermore, the suspension and chassis system is enhanced by the Flagbearer system, which uses a camera to scan the road ahead and adapt the suspension in response to road surface changes.
In addition, the Satellite-Aided Transmission, which uses GPS data to select the optimal gear for the curvature of the road, also contributes to the vehicle's quietness and dynamism.
Alongside the Ghost Series II, Rolls-Royce has also announced the "Ghost Extended Series II," designed to offer a superior rear-seat experience.
By extending the rear doors and opening, the rear space is increased by 170mm. Options include reclining Serenity seats and a champagne cooler that can be set to optimal temperatures for both vintage and non-vintage bottles, providing an unparalleled space.
