The EV Concept Car "DeZir" Expresses "LOVE"
This Tokyo Motor Show marks the Japan debut of two vehicles created under Renault's new design strategy, "Cycle of Life." Cycle of Life is a design strategy that places people at its center, dividing life into six stages and aiming to deepen the connection between users and the brand through models tailored to each stage.
The first concept car aligned with this Cycle of Life is the electric vehicle "DeZir," a Japan premiere. It runs on a motor located in the mid-rear position, considering weight distribution, and uses a 24kWh lithium-ion battery mounted behind the seats, offering a range of 160km on a single charge.
DeZir's theme is the first stage of the Cycle of Life: "LOVE (falling in love)." Its powerful and sensual design, composed of curves, evokes the human body and muscles, while the deep red body color expresses passion.
The production model that incorporates the design motif of DeZir is the new "Lutecia" model. The "Lutecia R.S." will also be exhibited.
The second production model, also a Japan premiere and aligned with the new design strategy, will be unveiled on November 20th (Wednesday), the first day of the press event. This new model, themed "EXPLORE (embark on an adventure)," is believed to be the urban SUV "Captur."
Also on display will be the recently facelifted "Koleos" and "Kangoo", as well as the "Megane Renault Sport" which boasts the fastest lap time for a production FF car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
