Documentary "Who Are the Children?"
Directed by Jeremy Seifert, a father of three and an environmental activist, "Who Are the Children?" delves into the truth about genetically modified foods. The documentary will be released sequentially nationwide starting April 25 (Saturday) at Shibuya Uplink, Meien Small Theater, and other venues.

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) cover 67 million hectares in the United States and 148 million hectares worldwide. "Who Are the Children?" follows Jeremy Seifert, a "parent" and filmmaker who questions the safety of these GMOs and embarks on a journey to find the truth. This is the second film in his series, following...Monsanto's Unnatural Foods...The Day the World Can't Eat...a documentary that makes us think about food safety.
Director Jeremy Seifert is a father of three. His first film, "DIVE!" released in 2010, explored food issues, hunger, and environmental problems, winning 22 awards at film festivals worldwide. He is also active as an environmental activist, and this film is his second directorial work.
What Answer Did the Family Find at the End of Their Journey?
Becoming a father prompted Director Jeremy Seifert to think about "food." Influenced by his son's love for seeds, he became interested in genetically modified organisms. In the United States, where there is no mandatory labeling, the very existence of GMOs is largely unknown. To uncover the truth, Jeremy embarks on a journey with his family to unravel the mystery of genetically modified foods.
He interviews Monsanto, which holds a 90% share of the GMO market, and visits the "seed bank" in Norway that stores seeds. Jeremy is left speechless by the realities of the food industry that come to light.
This documentary follows Jeremy and his family as they search for an answer to the question, "What will we eat to live?" What decision did the Seifert family make at the end of their journey? The answer is not something we in Japan can afford to ignore.
