Vanessa Paradis Embodies a Mother's Love: Stern Yet Charming


Winner of Three Academy Awards, Including Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, at the 86th Academy Awards in 2014theDallas Buyers Clubfrom director Jean-Marc Vallée, "Café de Flore," a story of love spanning across time, finally opens in Japan.

The lead role is played by Vanessa Paradis, France's beloved muse, whom Vallée called "the biggest discovery of this film." She portrays a strong mother raising a son with disabilities, embodying a love that is both stern and charming. Also, pay attention to the performance of musician Kevin Parent, who makes his film debut in this work.

The crucial music that graces the film is "Café de Flore" by Matthew Herbert, which also inspired the film's title. In addition, renowned tracks such as "Speak to Me" and "Breathe" from Pink Floyd's legendary album "The Dark Side of the Moon" are used, adding depth to the film's world.

When Two Unconnected Eras Intersect, a Miracle is Born



Paris, France, 1969. For Jacqueline, a single mother and hairdresser, her son Laurent, who has a disability, is her reason for living and she adores him. The two live their lives leaning on each other.

Meanwhile, time jumps to modern-day Montreal, Canada. Antoine, a successful DJ, has a girlfriend and two daughters, and his life is comfortable. However, his ex-wife Carole has not yet recovered from the pain of their divorce.

A miracle of love born when two eras that should never intersect cross paths. This is the heartfelt story presented by director Jean-Marc Vallée.
