A Story of a Divergent Couple, Completed After a Decade



The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her, which portray the struggles of a couple wounded in spirit from their respective viewpoints as separate works, will finally be released simultaneously in Japan on Valentine's Day, February 14th.

The director and screenwriter for both films is Ned Benson, a rising talent in Hollywood. Although this is his feature debut, it was screened at last year's 67th Cannes Film Festival and the 38th Toronto International Film Festival, and its novel approach to romantic cinema has been praised worldwide.

Eleanor Rigby, the protagonist, is played by Jessica Chastain, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for "Zero Dark Thirty" (2013).Zero Dark ThirtyJessica, who met Benson about 10 years ago and hit it off, has poured her strong feelings into this work, even serving as a producer.

Meanwhile, Connor, the other protagonist who harbors poignant feelings for his ex-wife, is played by James McAvoy, known for his diverse roles in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014), "Atonement" (2008), and "Filth" (2013).FilthThrough a relatable character, he delicately portrays the nuances of a man's heart, resonating with many viewers.

Additionally, Eleanor's supportive parents are played by Isabelle Huppert and William Hurt, while the father who supports Connor with deep affection is portrayed by Ciarán Hinds, known for voicing the character of Paaby in "Frozen" (2013), adding depth to the film with his skillful performance.
