Discovering the presence and happiness of a loved one during a journey away from everyday life

'Le Week-end' depicts a couple, celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to Paris, who, through a chance encounter, confront their mutual dissatisfactions but ultimately reaffirm their strong bond and love. Director Roger Michell states that he had long nurtured the desire to create a film exploring the eternal theme of how couples can deepen their bond and enrich their lives.

Veteran actors Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan, known for 'Le Week-end,' deliver powerful performances as the middle-aged couple. Jeff Goldblum is cast as Morgan, a university friend of Nick's. Beyond the humorous and witty dialogue, characteristic of a long-married couple, the film captivates with its depiction of Parisian streets, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, where the two wander.

What future did they envision after confiding their long-held feelings?

Nick and Meg, a British couple, arrive in Paris to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary, a city they visited on their honeymoon. As they try to enjoy their trip, visiting the Arc de Triomphe and museums, and indulging in French cuisine and wine, Nick's confession of being 'dismissed from university' triggers them to begin airing their long-held grievances.

At that moment, they coincidentally run into Morgan, Nick's university friend, in the city. Invited to a party celebrating Morgan's success as a renowned author, Nick is torn between nostalgia and inferiority. What were Meg's 'true feelings' for her husband, revealed in front of the party guests?.
