Grand Prix and Best Actor Awards Won at Tokyo International Film Festival
"The Intouchables," which became the number one box office hit in France last year and a massive success across Europe, is finally opening in Japan. The film, which garnered significant attention in Japan after winning the Grand Prix at the 24th Tokyo International Film Festival last fall, also saw its two lead actors jointly awarded the Best Actor prize.
The film was produced and written by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, a directorial duo who were deeply moved after seeing the documentary that inspired the film. Having collaborated on numerous projects over the years, they finally brought their long-cherished vision to life.
François Cluzet, a celebrated French actor, portrays Philippe, a lonely aristocrat with a delicate soul hidden beneath a sharp exterior. Omar Sy, known for his comedic talent, plays Driss, a charismatic and overly confident young man from the projects, with boundless energy and charm.
