César Award Winner Isabelle Carré Shines as the Nun

The true story of Marie, a girl with profound disabilities, and Marguerite, the nun who brought her the joy of life, a "different kind of The Miracle Worker" from 19th-century France, is coming to Japan.

Directed by Jean-Pierre Améris, known for "The Adventures of Delphine" (1998), the film stars newcomer Ariana Rivoire as Marie. Rivoire, who herself has a hearing impairment, was discovered by Améris and makes her film debut here.

Isabelle Carré, a César Award winner for Best Actress, portrays Sister Marguerite. She delivers a powerful performance as the nun who embraces Marie with love despite her own serious illness.

The film also features a "barrier-free" version with dubbed dialogue and audio descriptions, making it accessible for visually impaired audiences.

Sister Marguerite Dedicates Her Remaining Life to Educating Marie

Marie, a girl blind and deaf from birth, arrives at a convent for deaf girls. Raised without any education, Marie is as wild as an animal and trusts no one.

Sister Marguerite, suffering from a terminal illness and with little time left, dedicates her remaining days to educating Marie, aiming to give her a "world" to experience.

Overcoming numerous challenges, Marie finally begins to understand language. She discovers the joy of learning and grows day by day, nurtured by Marguerite's maternal love and dedicated teaching. But Marguerite's time is inevitably running out...

The joy of life that Marguerite bestowed upon Marie. This true story of two women, largely unknown in Japan, will touch the hearts of audiences.
