Introducing the energy policies of each candidate in the unified local elections.
Unified Local Elections
The "Voters' Association to Know Candidates' Energy Policies" Website
The unified local elections will be held nationwide on April 10th. As this election comes shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake, it will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the nation's direction, even though it is a local election. In particular, following the Fukushima nuclear accident, candidates' views on energy policy have become one of the most significant points of contention. The website "Voters' Association to Know Candidates' Energy Policies" surveyed all candidates in each region regarding their energy policies and has published the responses.

Survey Sent to All Candidates
The question sent to each candidate was: "What is your stance on our nation's energy policy?" While two options were provided: "A: Nuclear power generation should be maintained going forward" and "B: Efforts should be made to transition to energy sources other than nuclear power going forward," most candidates provided specific comments, as the issue cannot be simply answered with an A or B.
As of April 6th, responses have been received from 21 out of 39 candidates. This website is a valuable resource for selecting candidates.
