A Proposal to Cherish Well-Made Things for a Lifetime

The brand "minä perhonen" (Mina Perhonen) was created by Akira Minagawa. It produces a wide range of items, including fashion pieces using original fabrics and furniture upholstered with their textiles.

This autumn, maruni hiroshima will host a limited-time event with "minä perhonen" titled "Kura-shi wo Tsukuru" (Making a Life).

The textiles of "minä perhonen" have long been used as upholstery for Maruni Wood Industry's MARUNI COLLECTION furniture. A completely new fabric called "double face," derived from the Italian word "doppio" meaning "double," has been named "dop" and allows for enjoyment of both sides of the fabric.

As it wears and rubs, a new surface is revealed, giving the impression of the fabric being reborn rather than deteriorating.

The "Kura-shi wo Tsukuru" exhibition proposes a lifestyle that is enriched day by day, lived in close connection with "minä perhonen." The event will feature interior items that color daily life, such as cushions, rugs, and tableware, with a focus on limited-edition pieces and items exclusively sold at "minä perhonen"'s directly managed stores.

As a limited-edition item, three textiles from "minä perhonen"'s archives have been selected and embroidered onto "dop" fabric to create a special HIROSHIMA armchair, which will be released in a limited quantity.

Additionally, a talk event will be held with Akira Minagawa. Attention will be on what Minagawa will share on the theme of "Kura-shi wo Tsukuru" (Making a Life). During the event period, a workshop for creating Christmas ornaments from leftover "dop" fabric will also be held.

A refined life of carefully selecting well-made items and cherishing them for a long time. This event offers an opportunity to reconsider one's own way of living and perhaps discover new insights. We encourage you to visit.
