New works unveiled at this year's Milan Salone.
Held last May at Spiral GardenThe exhibition "Enchanting Interiors," which attracted over 3,000 visitors in three days, was subsequently held in Osaka in December of the same year and in Nagoya in August of this year.
This time, in addition to the two artist duos, Frederique Morrel and Bokja, new works presented at this year's Milan Salone by the French brand "ibride" will be exhibited, alongside interior items that embody TOYO KITCHEN STYLE's unique worldview. The striking impressions and individuality conveyed by these works suggest a new direction for the world of interiors.
A "lustrous allure" that offers hints for future richness.
Mr. Takao Watanabe, President and CEO of TOYO KITCHEN STYLE, which is organizing the exhibition, commented as follows:
"The artists we are introducing this time express their 'own worlds' unreservedly, separate from common sense or consensus. They convey their inner thoughts and messages to the outside world directly and with rich color. The cry of the artist's soul, absent in mass-produced items, becomes an enchanting charm that speaks to us. The vitality emanating from each piece may seem strange to us, accustomed as we are to the inorganic. However, we believe that this lustrous allure holds the key to future richness."
Installation at the venue renewed.
"FREDERIQUE MORREL" is an avant-garde interior brand that began in Paris. The artist, Frederique, started her creative activities inspired by her late grandmother's skill in needlepoint embroidery (a technique of embroidering with wool yarn across the entire canvas). Drawing inspiration from mythological elements such as Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, the Fall of Man, and Noah's Ark, she continues to present works with a spiritual aesthetic. This year, she has been actively involved in projects such as designing window displays for Hermès in New York.
"BOKJA" is a talented design duo based in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon on the Mediterranean coast, consisting of Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hibri. Founded in 2000, the brand has shown respect and passion for traditional crafts such as kilims. They create works with beautiful, lyrical color palettes and high artistic merit unique to handmade items.
Furthermore, "BOSA" is an Italian brand that explores new expressions in ceramics and continues to present unique works that add color to spaces. Their distinctive, beautiful ceramic glazes are achieved through innovative proprietary techniques. They present works designed by numerous renowned designers and architects, including Jaime Hayon.
"ibride" is a French interior brand that has gained popularity since its debut for its high fashion sensibility and fantastical world. Its unique designs, born from the hybrid talents of its three founding creators, are its charm. The brand is also carried by stores such as Barneys in New York and Liberty in London. This exhibition will feature items such as painting-like objects that also function as shelves and cabinets.
