YAMAGIWA, a lighting manufacturer that revives Wright's works with the full cooperation of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, has released three special limited edition models of "TALIESIN®2," one of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces. An exhibition is also planned to coincide with the release.

Frank Lloyd Wright, a globally active creator and a leading architect of the 20th century, made significant contributions to the development of modern architecture in Japan. While many may associate his name with his architectural masterpieces, a considerable number might first recall his pendant lamp designed in 1933, characterized by its square box and light-blocking panels.

"TALIESIN®2" is YAMAGIWA's modern interpretation of this pendant lamp, recreated in collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation.

In 2017, a project began to express homage to the master through lighting, commemorating Wright's 150th birthday.

Shigeru Ban (architect), Yukio Hashimoto (interior designer), and Groovisions (graphic designer) participated, each interpreting "Taliesin" from their unique perspectives. The following year, Toyo Ito (architect), Akira Minagawa (designer), and Kohei Nawa (sculptor) also redesigned the lamp, and the exhibition "HOMMAGE TO FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT™" was held.

In 2019, Kazuyo Sejima (architect), Yuusuke Nagayama (architect), and Keita Suzuki (product designer) each offered their own interpretations of "TALIESIN®2." To celebrate the release, "HOMMAGE TO FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT® 2019" will be held at yamagiwa tokyo.

The three lamps, each a reinterpretation of Wright's architectural philosophy, concepts, and motifs, are projected with unique perspectives. One can only anticipate how they will inhabit and illuminate spaces.
