The Door Opener for Lexus Electrified

The Lexus UX300e retains the distinctive design, convenience, and maneuverability of its base model, the compact crossover UX, while incorporating a high-output motor and a large-capacity battery. The 4KM motor mounted at the front delivers a maximum output of 150 kW (203 ps) and a peak torque of 300 Nm. The 54.4 kWh high-capacity lithium-ion battery, positioned in the underframe, provides a WLTC-mode driving range of 367 km.
In terms of driving dynamics, the optimal front-rear weight distribution is achieved due to the absence of heavy components in the front of the vehicle, such as the engine. Furthermore, the low center of gravity, thanks to the battery placed under the floor, contributes to a quiet and refined ride, combined with the steering feel characteristic of Lexus.
Additionally, the paddle shifters allow for selection of four levels of deceleration, enabling braking operations similar to engine braking in gasoline vehicles. The Active Sound Control system has also been adopted to provide a pleasant driving sound, prioritizing the driver's natural sense of operation.
Charging times are officially stated as approximately 50 minutes for a 75% charge and 80 minutes for a 100% charge using CHAdeMO rapid charging. For standard charging (200V), a full charge takes 14 hours.
Takeshi Watanabe, Chief Engineer at Lexus, commented, "The UX300e is the door opener for our electrification vision, 'Lexus Electrified.' In its development, we particularly focused on three key aspects: 'the refined driving and quietness unique to a Lexus EV,' 'high functionality and convenience,' and 'the high reliability of our electrification technology cultivated through our hybrid vehicles.' We hope that through the UX300e, customers will experience the potential of electric vehicles and the future of automobiles."
Pricing is set at 5.8 million yen for the "version C" and 6.35 million yen for the "version L."
