Japanese Specification Includes V2H/V2L Functionality
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) that combines a body size and maneuverability suited to Japanese road conditions with a spacious interior and luggage compartment, and the practicality of an SUV. Deliveries of the EQE 350 4MATIC SUV Launch Edition (hereafter, EQE 350 SUV) are scheduled to begin on the same day, with the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ SUV Launch Edition (hereafter, EQE 53 SUV) expected from late October.
The EQE SUV, which uses the "EVA2" dedicated BEV platform also found in the EQS that debuted earlier, measures 4,880mm in length, 2,030mm in width, and 1,670mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030mm.
The 4MATIC and 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive systems, equipped with electric powertrains (eATS) on both the front and rear axles, deliver a maximum output of 292 hp (215 kW) and a peak torque of 765 Nm for the EQE 350 SUV, achieving a driving range of 528 km (WLTC mode).

The 89 kWh lithium-ion battery supports standard charging up to 6.0 kW and DC fast charging (CHAdeMO standard) up to 150 kW. Charging from 10% to 80% takes 102 minutes with a 50 kW charger, 54 minutes with a 90 kW charger, and 49 minutes with a 150 kW charger.
The battery is covered by EQ Care for 10 years or 250,000 km (whichever comes first), with a guaranteed remaining capacity of 70%. The Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 SUV is currently undergoing type certification with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and its main specifications have not yet been announced.

A key feature of the Japanese specification is the inclusion of a bidirectional charging V2H/V2L function, which allows power to be supplied externally. This enables the vehicle to store electricity generated by household solar power systems or act as a backup power source during outages.
The exterior adopts the "Sensual Purity" design language, characterized by flowing surfaces, minimal seams, and seamless design, with thorough measures taken against wind noise, befitting an electric vehicle with its quiet powertrain.

Features such as an overlapping bonnet with minimal panel seams, a dynamic body line flowing from the gently sloped A-pillar to the roof and rear spoiler, door mirrors positioned on the beltline for improved aeroacoustics, flush, retractable door handles, and large 20-21 inch wheels to enhance aerodynamic performance contribute to a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.25.
The interior of the EQE 53 SUV features the MBUX Hyperscreen, which covers the entire dashboard with a single pane of glass, combined with AMG-specific Nappa leather seats featuring pronounced side bolsters.

The left and right air outlets are designed to resemble jet engine turbines, adding a playful touch that blends the analog and digital.
The EQE 350 SUV is equipped with standard sports seats featuring illuminated piping along their contours.
The suspension features AIRMATIC, a combination of the continuously variable damping system ADS+ and air suspension, as standard. The EQS 53 SUV further incorporates AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, which splits the front and rear anti-roll bars into two and controls both with actuators, enhancing straight-line ride comfort and achieving precise control and direct handling even under extreme driving conditions.

Additionally, the standard rear-axle steering (up to 10 degrees) enables a minimum turning radius of 4.8 meters, making the vehicle as easy to handle as a compact car despite its large body and long wheelbase.
Pricing is set at 13,697,000 yen for the EQE 350 SUV and 17,070,000 yen for the EQE 53 SUV.
