Pursuing Lexus's Signature Ride with DIRECT4 and Steer-by-Wire

The LF-Z Electrified utilizes an EV-exclusive platform to achieve the "significant evolution of fundamental vehicle performance" targeted by the brand's electrification vision, Lexus Electrified. The body measures 4,880mm in length, 1,960mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm and a weight of 2,100kg. Its performance, driven by motors with a maximum output of 400kW and 700Nm of torque, allows for 0-100km/h acceleration in 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 200km/h. The 90kWh water-cooled lithium-ion battery provides a cruising range of 600km (WLTP mode).
To deepen the "Lexus Driving Signature"—Lexus's unique driving feel that aims for linear response faithful to the driver's intentions, including a seamless connection of deceleration, steering, and acceleration in all driving scenarios—the vehicle incorporates new four-wheel drive control technology "DIRECT4" and steer-by-wire.
The exterior, as a study model hinting at Lexus's evolving design, aims for a simple, lustrous form rooted in proportion and a unique design. The spindle shape, a Lexus design icon, has been further evolved into a new expression called the "spindle body," challenging a new architectural approach. This three-dimensional design treats the brand's icon as part of the body's architecture. At the rear, a clean, simple horizontal design is combined with flared fenders to express a powerful stance supporting strong torque. The thin, horizontal rear combination lamp, newly incorporating the LEXUS logo, along with the front design, symbolizes the next generation of Lexus.
The interior realizes a cockpit based on the new "Tazuna" concept, embodying Lexus's foundational "human-centered" philosophy at a higher dimension. Inspired by the relationship between a rider and horse communicating through a single rein, the cockpit integrates steering switches and the head-up display. This allows the driver to operate various functions, such as navigation, audio, and drive mode selection, without shifting their gaze or fumbling with switches, enabling them to concentrate fully on driving.
Advanced features include voice communication where AI learns the driver's preferences and behavior to provide constant support, a digital key, and the E-Latch system for the retractable door handles.
