FCA Japan is introducing the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model "4xe" of Jeep's compact SUV "Renegade" to Japan for the first time. A special website has also been launched in anticipation of the sales start planned for autumn 2020.

The "Renegade 4xe," Jeep's first full-scale electrified model to be introduced in Japan, combines a conventional 1.3-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. This not only further enhances its four-wheel-drive performance but also allows for up to 50km of zero-emission driving.

The planned introduction grades are "Limited" and "Trailhawk." Details regarding performance, equipment, and pricing are scheduled to be announced at the time of the sales launch this autumn.

The newly opened special website "Jeep 4xe" offers not only new car information but also various activities for Jeep owners and fans to interact. Furthermore, to express Jeep's evolution towards the next generation, it features a hybrid collaboration with "MUTEK.JP," which engages in international artistic and cultural activities in the digital art scene.

In conjunction with the digital art contest hosted by Jeep and MUTEK.JP, the "Jeep Real Hybrid Campaign MUTEK.JP" has also been launched. Public voting will be available from Monday, September 14th, and one winner selected from seven digital creators will be appointed as Jeep's brand ambassador in 2021.
