The Golf, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, receives a minor change.
The "Golf" and "Golf Variant," celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, have undergone a minor change. Reservations will begin in September, with deliveries scheduled from January 2025.
This is an upgraded model of the 8th generation, introduced to Japan in 2021. The exterior and interior have been primarily refined, with the illuminated VW emblem, a first for Japan, accentuating the sharp front design.
The interior's center cluster features a large 12.9-inch touch display equipped with the latest infotainment system, "MIB4." "MIB4" also enables voice control of functions via the IDA voice assistant, allowing control of vehicle functions such as air conditioning and infotainment.
The powertrain options include a 1.5-liter eTSI 48V mild hybrid system with two output levels (85kW/116ps or 110kW/150ps), and a 2.0-liter TDI clean diesel engine with a dual AdBlue injection system and twin-dosing system, continuing from the previous generation. Both the Golf and Golf Variant will have eight grades each.
Additionally, the traditional sporty "GTI" grade will be available for the Golf, equipped with a 2.0-liter TSI engine producing 195kW (265ps).
The first model among those unveiled to begin accepting reservations and deliveries is the compact SUV "T-Cross," which has undergone its first minor change. The exterior design has been altered, with three new body colors added, bringing the total to eight color options.
In terms of safety equipment, the "Travel Assist" system, which supports driving at all speeds within the same lane, is now standard on all grades, enhancing safe driving. Reservations for this model will begin on July 6 (Saturday), with deliveries starting in September.
