Extended Range and Enhanced Connectivity

The 2022 models of the Taycan and the Taycan Cross Turismo, announced in March 2021, have been unveiled.
Technically, the effective range has been extended by almost completely disengaging the front electric motor in Normal and Range modes, and by de-energizing it under partial load in All-Wheel Drive mode. While the range (WLTP) figures will not be updated, the daily driving range is said to be longer.
As a new option, "Remote Park Assist" has also been introduced, allowing drivers to remotely control parallel parking, perpendicular parking, and parking in garages using a smartphone, even when not in the driver's seat.
The system automatically detects parking spaces and measures their dimensions using the vehicle's ultrasonic sensors and camera system. If there is sufficient space, the driver can initiate the parking process using the "Porsche Connect" app and exit the vehicle.
While continuing to hold down the button on the smartphone app interface, the parking process can be continuously monitored, with the Remote Park Assist function taking over steering and the vehicle's forward and backward movements. The Taycan's parking operation will stop immediately when the button is released.
The sixth generation of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system, introduced since the Taycan's debut, has also evolved. Previously compatible only with Apple CarPlay, it now supports Android Auto. Certain phone functions and smartphone apps that do not adversely affect driving safety can now be operated using Google Assistant voice commands.
Body colors include the revival of distinctive Porsche colors from the 1990s. In addition to 17 standard paint colors, 63 optional colors are available, including Porsche-specific shades such as Moonlight Blue Metallic, Acid Green, and Ruby Star.
