Honda Civic World Premiere | HONDA
Adopts a Sleek Hatchback Style
The new model's dimensions are 4,550mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,425mm in height, making it 30mm longer and 5mm lower than its predecessor. The wheelbase is 35mm longer at 2,735mm.
The exterior features a coupe-like hatchback style with a roof that slopes gently towards the rear. The front headlights have been reshaped from the predecessor's sharp, piercing eyes to a slightly gentler expression. The taillights also adopt a slightly drooping C-design. These changes contribute to an overall impression of increased approachability.
To achieve an "exhilarating" package, the rear ends of the engine hood on both sides have been lowered by 25mm, emphasizing the low hood. The A-pillar mounting points have been moved back by 50mm, expanding the driver's horizontal field of vision to 87° and enhancing the sense of visual continuity between the front and side windows.
At the rear, the shoulder line for the rear seats has been lowered by 35mm and quarter glass has been added to ensure a horizontal field of vision. Furthermore, by placing the tailgate hinges further outward, the same headroom as the current model is maintained despite the lower roofline. Sitting in the driver's seat, one notices the comfortable, unobstructed view created by the low beltline that extends in a straight line front to back and side to side.
Two grades are available: "EX" and "LX." For the interior, the EX features black combination seats with red perforations, while the LX uses single-material seats. Ample space is provided in the front, rear, and overhead areas.
The dashboard features a horizontal design characteristic of recent Honda models, with considerations for reflections and shadows from the windows. The EX is equipped with a 10.2-inch full graphic meter, while the LX has a 7.0-inch full-color panel display.
A notable feature is the design of the punched metal air vents extending across the full width, which avoids direct airflow to the face, preventing dryness of the skin and eyes while providing a refreshing wide-flow breeze. Similar to the "gentle breeze outlet" found in the SUV Vezel, this is another characteristic element of current Honda vehicles. The luggage capacity is a generous 452L.
