Two Hybrid Systems Adopted

The powertrain features two hybrid systems. The first is the 2.4-liter Dual Boost Hybrid System, which combines a 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 200kW (272ps) and 460Nm for strong torque from low RPMs, with a new electric powertrain "eAxle" delivering high driving force through its front motor (61kW/82.9ps/292Nm) and rear motor (59kW/80.2ps/169Nm), and a newly developed bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery—a first for Toyota. This system offers a linear response to accelerator input, providing a direct, torque-rich, and exhilarating driving feel.

The other system is the 2.5-liter series parallel hybrid system, which combines a highly efficient 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine producing 137kW (186ps) and 221Nm (optimized for the Crown Crossover) with a front motor (88kW/119.6ps/202Nm), a rear motor (40kW/54.4ps/121Nm), and a newly developed bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery. This system achieves class-leading fuel economy and high quietness, further evolving the refined and smooth ride characteristic of the Crown.

In terms of safety features, the vehicle is equipped with the latest preventive safety package, "Toyota Safety Sense," and the advanced driver assistance technology, "Toyota TeamMates."

The price for the Crossover model, to be released first, ranges from 6.05 million to 6.40 million yen for the 2.4-liter Dual Boost Hybrid model, and 4.35 million to 5.70 million yen for the 2.5-liter series parallel hybrid model. It is also scheduled to be available through the subscription service "KINTO" starting around autumn this year, with a monthly sales target of 3,200 units. The other models will be sequentially released over the next year and a half.
