A Limited Edition Ethical PHEV Renegade with Recycled Seat Materials
Stellantis Japan has announced that it will offer a limited edition of 200 units of the Jeep plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV, the Renegade 4xe, called the "Renegade Upland 4xe," which fuses sustainability and design. Sales will begin on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Eco-Fabric Seats Made from Recycled Ocean Waste
The "Renegade 4xe" is a PHEV that combines Jeep's best-ever fuel efficiency with its traditional off-road capabilities. It can travel up to 50 km on electric power alone, and after the charged lithium-ion battery is depleted, it functions as a hybrid vehicle using both the engine and electric motor.
Now, a more ethical limited edition, the "Renegade Upland 4xe," has arrived for the "Renegade 4xe."
The seats are made of eco-fabric using SEAQUAL® yarn, recycled from ocean waste. Accents include special marine-sport-inspired decorations and embroidered Jeep® logos. Additionally, the interior features bronze accents around the air vents and speaker grilles as special equipment, with design details that have been meticulously considered.
The body color is Azuma Matter Metallic, a dedicated color inspired by clear water surfaces. The roof is finished in black, enhancing its sporty appearance. Furthermore, the engine hood features exclusive Upland decals, and the front grille with bronze accents and 17-inch gloss black wheels create a sharp exterior.
Safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and a Rear Backup Camera.
Only 200 units will be sold at a price of 5.68 million yen. Purchasers will receive two camping chairs and a soft multi-container, a collaboration between Jeep and POLeR, an American lifestyle outdoor brand from Portland. The storage bag for the camping chairs and the shoulder strap loops of the soft multi-container, which can also be used as a cooler box, are partially made from recycled fishing nets, a component of the ocean plastic problem, and are exclusive items for this limited edition model.
