Prelude Returns: Honda Unveils Concept Model at Japan Mobility Show

Prelude Concept Makes Global Debut

Honda is exhibiting at the "Japan Mobility Show 2023" held at Tokyo Big Sight. In addition to the global premiere of the "Prelude Concept," the company also unveiled the autonomous vehicle "Cruise Origin" and the "SUSTAINA-C Concept," made from recycled materials.

Exhibiting Mobility That Frees You from Various Constraints, Including Autonomous Vehicles and Recycled Material Cars

Reflecting the evolution from the "Tokyo Motor Show" to the "Japan Mobility Show," Honda presented its "Honda Dream Loop" theme, showcasing diverse mobility solutions of the present and the future Honda envisions, aiming to "liberate people from various constraints such as time and space" and "expand human capabilities and possibilities."
The "Cruise Origin" is an autonomous vehicle where the interior becomes a completely private space. It's a mobility solution that allows users to freely utilize their travel time, whether for meetings or simply enjoying the journey without worrying about others.
Honda plans to launch an autonomous taxi service using the "Cruise Origin" in Japan in early 2026, in partnership with GM Cruise.
SUSTAINA-C Concept
Furthermore, the "SUSTAINA-C Concept" is a mobility solution that liberates users from the constraints of limited resources. This model, made from recycled acrylic resin, embodies resource circulation.
The major highlight was the revival of the "Prelude." The Prelude, meaning "prelude" or "forerunner," signifies the continuation of the "joy of driving" into the full-scale electrification era as a specialty sports model, and serves as a harbinger of Honda's unwavering sporting spirit.

In addition, Honda is exhibiting other mobility solutions such as the avatar robot "UNI-ONE" that expands human capabilities and possibilities, and the autonomous micro-mobility vehicle "Honda CI-MEV" which is useful in areas without public transportation.

In the aerial domain, Honda is also showcasing the "HondaJet" and the developing electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft "Honda eVTOL," presenting Honda's unique vision for the future of mobility.
The "Japan Mobility Show 2023" is being held at Tokyo Big Sight until Sunday, November 5th.
