Exterior Refreshed, Centered on a Forward-Leaning Front End

Born in 2004 as a new segment, the four-door coupe CLS, has undergone improvements including a redesigned front end centered around the grille, and the addition of new features to enhance comfort.
The exterior has been refreshed, centered on a forward-leaning front end. The "220d Sport" and "450 4MATIC Sport" models feature a "Star Pattern Grille" with a single louvre, designed dynamically to widen at the bottom and adorned with countless small three-pointed stars in a matte chrome finish, further emphasizing the dynamic character of the four-door coupe.
The wheel designs have also been updated. For the "CLS 450 4MATIC Sport," the wheel size has increased from 19 to 20 inches. The "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+" features an AMG-specific radiator grille with vertical louvres, enhancing its sporty impression along with the wide-profile bumper.
Additionally, the newly available "Carbon Package" incorporates carbon fiber for the door mirrors, spoiler lip, and trim. It also includes red brake calipers and 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke wheels painted in matte black. The AMG DYNAMIC SELECT system gains a "Race" mode.
The interior sees an evolved steering wheel. The rim is equipped with pads featuring capacitive sensors, allowing the vehicle to recognize the driver's grip without requiring torque on the steering wheel, thereby improving the usability of DISTRONIC PLUS.
For the interior, the "220d Sport" and "450 4MATIC Sport" models can be chosen from six colors, including the new "Neva Grey/Magma Grey." The "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+" can be selected from five colors, including the new "Black/Silver Grey Pearl."
Comfort features now include a head-up display as standard on all models, and door closing assist on the "450 4MATIC Sport" and "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+".

Furthermore, the newly introduced "ENERGIZING Package" for the CLS integrates systems such as various heaters, a perfume atomizer, seat settings, lighting, and music to comprehensively control comfort through "ENERGIZING COMFORT." It also includes "ENERGIZING COACH," which proposes driving modes based on algorithms that consider personal data like driving time, driver stress levels, and sleep quality.

A total of 10 body colors are available, including "Spectra Blue." For the "220d Sport" and "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+" models, the "Individualization Program," available by order, now allows selection from six colors, including "Cote d'Azur Light Blue" and "Teide Light Grey," previously only available on select high-end Mercedes-Benz models.
The "220d Sport," equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-4 diesel turbo, is priced at 9.18 million yen. The "450 4MATIC Sport," featuring a 3.0-liter inline-6 gasoline turbo, is 11.89 million yen. The "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+" with an increased output is 14.41 million yen, and the "Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+ Edition 1," limited to 300 units globally and 50 in Japan, is 15.99 million yen.
Deliveries are scheduled for spring 2022, though this may change depending on production status.
