Embodying AMG Performance and Styling

Following the "CLE 200 Sport Coupe" introduced to Japan in March 2024, two new models, the "Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe" and the "CLE 200 Cabriolet Sport," have now arrived in Japan.
The CLE series was born as a new generation of two-door coupes, inheriting the tradition and history of coupes that Mercedes-Benz has cultivated. It adopts the long wheelbase, short overhangs, and long bonnet characteristic of Mercedes-Benz's two-door coupe heritage, representing a fusion of the previous C-Class Coupe and E-Class Coupe.
Let's explore the features of each of the two newly released models.
Compared to the CLE 200 Coupe, the "Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe" features increased body dimensions: 4,855mm (+5mm) in length, 1,935mm (+75mm) in width, and 1,435mm (+15mm) in height. The significantly widened body, achieved through the integration of wide fenders at the front and rear, emphasizes its dynamic styling.
The engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine equipped with a second-generation mild-hybrid system (ISG) and an electric auxiliary compressor. Modifications to the turbocharger result in a maximum output of 330 kW (449 hp) and a peak torque of 560 Nm, increasing to 600 Nm with the overboost function. The ISG also provides an additional 17 kW (23 hp) and 205 Nm.
The transmission is paired with an electronically controlled 9-speed "AMG Speedshift MCT" that supports double-clutch function and paddle shifting.
The AMG 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system, which optimizes front-to-rear torque distribution, contributes to stability during high-speed cornering and acceleration out of corners.
Additionally, it is equipped with "AMG Ride Control suspension" and "AMG Performance steering." Optional features include red brake calipers and the "AMG Dynamic Plus package," which offers driving modes like "Drift" and "Race," allowing drivers to experience the technology Mercedes-AMG has honed in motorsport.
The exterior expresses its high-performance nature with a shark nose design, sharp headlights, and AMG's signature A-wing grille.
The side profile also features a distinctively powerful form compared to the standard model, with wider front and rear tracks than the CLE 200.
The interior also boasts a sporty finish, with the 11.9-inch media display tilted approximately 6 degrees towards the driver to emphasize a sports-oriented feel.
