Third-generation "TT"The Audi "TT quattro sport concept," announced alongside the third-generation "TT," is preciselyMercedes-Benz'sA45 AMG 4MATIC" andCLA 45 AMG 4MATIC" models. Although a concept car, its 2-liter inline-4 2.0 TFSI engine is tuned to 309kW (420ps), clearly targeting the "A 45 AMG's" 180ps per liter output.
The maximum torque delivered via the signature "quattro system" is also a formidable 450Nm (45.9kgm), making it no exaggeration to say it represents the pinnacle of compact sports models. Audi introduced this special TT at a press conference as "designed for racing and presented to motorsport enthusiasts among our customers," clearly indicating an intention to establish a new benchmark in the 2-liter displacement category.
An output of 155kW (210ps) per liter, achieved with a direct-injection FSI gasoline engine combined with a turbocharger, is even higher than the racing machine "R18" that achieved victory at Le Mans in 2001. This comparison should help potential buyers better imagine the capabilities of the Audi TT quattro sport concept.
Dr. Stephan Krumm, who developed the powertrain, stated at the event, "This high-performance power unit is a demonstration of the potential and possibilities of Audi's EA888 engine. This powertrain has won numerous awards worldwide, and its capabilities have already been proven in many sporty Audi models.
The TT quattro sport concept showcases the potential of the EA888 engine at its peak. We have leveraged our 35 years of experience in turbocharging to embody the combination of maximum performance, dynamism, and fuel efficiency."
The engine features a special cooling system, aluminum pistons, ultra-high-strength forged steel shafts, and a newly developed cylinder head. The thin-walled, compact cylinders and crankcase are formed from high-strength cast alloy. A newly developed turbocharger also enables a boost pressure of 1.8 bar. The transmission is paired with a dual-clutch "S tronic."

High expectations for its release
The suspension format is the same as the standard TT: MacPherson struts at the front and a four-link setup at the rear, but the ride height is lowered and the suspension is firmer. The weight distribution, 54:46 front to rear, is also a characteristic of this "strongest" machine. The quattro system controls torque distribution between the left and right wheels as needed during cornering, enhancing maneuverability.
The aggressive front section is recreated using CFRP. Its aerodynamically superior, practical design also enhances airflow to the engine bay. Furthermore, the overall width is increased by 30mm compared to the standard TT, with the sill trims, rear diffuser, and fixed rear spoiler also made from CFRP.
The interior, befitting its "for racing" designation, has had armrests and speakers removed for weight reduction. The cockpit is upholstered in Alcantara and features racing bucket seats with striking white accents and four-point seatbelts. The luggage compartment has space for two helmets.

Voices expressing anticipation for its release could be heard throughout the Geneva Motor Show venue. These sentiments have surely reached Audi as well.
