The Dawn of a New Legend
Geneva Motor ShowOn March 3rd, the eve of the show's opening, Automobili Lamborghini held its traditional preview night to unveil the new supercar, the "Huracan LP 610-4."
As early as last December, its basic specifications were already public. However, this marks its first public appearance. As the successor to the "Gallardo", which is being refreshed for the first time in a decade, it goes without saying that it has garnered immense attention.
"Lamborghini is embarking on the next chapter of its illustrious history with the Huracan," stated President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann. With the Huracan LP 610-4, he aims to redefine the benchmark in the luxury supersports car segment, once again.
The dynamically wedge-shaped body measures 4,459mm in length, 1,924mm in width, and 1,165mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. Its beautifully sculpted form presents a bold, edgy aesthetic that sets it apart from the previous Gallardo. A single line flowing from the headlamps to the front fenders lends an air of elegance, while the hexagonal motif in the side design creates a sense of depth, giving the Huracan a powerful and massive impression.
The highlight of the Huracan LP 610-4 is its newly developed hybrid chassis, which is also expected to be used in the next-generation "R8." This chassis integrates carbon fiber and aluminum, achieving an ultra-lightweight construction with a chassis weight of just 200kg and a dry vehicle weight of 1,422kg. Lamborghini claims that its high rigidity, surpassing the spaceframe structure of the Gallardo, delivers driving performance comparable to a racing car.

Lamborghini "Huracan": The Highly Anticipated World Premiere
Top Speed: 325 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 3.2 Seconds
The Huracan is powered by a newly developed 5.2-liter V10 engine, producing a maximum output of 448kW (610ps) at 8,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 560Nm at 6,500 rpm. The transmission is Lamborghini's first dual-clutch transmission, called "LamborghiniDoppia Frizione (LDF)," paired with a 4WD system, naturally.
It achieves a top speed of 325 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Three driving modes, designed for everything from public roads to race tracks, can be selected via a switch on the steering wheel. This system, called ANIMA (Italian for "soul"), stands for "Adaptive Network Intelligent Management" and works in conjunction with the engine, transmission, all-wheel-drive and ESC handling systems, as well as other driving dynamics-related systems.
The Huracan comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes and 20-inch wheels. Optional features include the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system and Magnetorheological pushrod dampers.
The Huracan LP 610-4 is manufactured at Automobili Lamborghini's headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese, with deliveries scheduled to begin in spring 2014. The selling price is 169,500 Euros (approximately 23.73 million yen).
