An Evolution of the Zonda R

The Pagani "Zonda R" was a race-track-only model produced in a limited run of just 15 units, debuting at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. It is known for setting the fastest lap time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (North Loop). The newly unveiled "Zonda Revolution" is an evolved version of that Zonda R.

The Zonda Revolution was developed as a special model exclusively for the track. Its body, designed with maximum consideration for aerodynamics, incorporates various parts born from Nürburgring attacks, such as newly designed front canards, a vertical stabilizer, and a DRS-equipped variable wing, to further optimize its aerodynamic characteristics.

The powertrain features a newly developedMercedes-BenzAMG-built 6.0-liter V12 engine. Despite being a naturally aspirated engine, it produces 800 horsepower. The transmission is a 2-pedal 6-speed sequential, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration of just 2.6 seconds. Top speed is said to exceed 350 km/h. Supporting its performance are newly developed Pirelli slick tires, a Brembo brake system, and a newly designed Öhlins suspension system.

Like the Zonda R, the current record holder at the Nürburgring, the Zonda Revolution, also a track-dedicated model honed for performance, is scheduled to attempt an attack on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The Zonda Revolution on display at the Pagani Automobili stand at this year's Geneva Show is, in fact, the very car ordered from Japan. This model is planned for a limited production of five units by 2015, with a price starting from 2.2 million euros (approximately 300 million yen). However, orders for four of these units have already been completed.
