A Wagon Model for the New Generation
The new "308," which debuted at the September 2013Frankfurt Motor Show" is Peugeot's C-segment hatchback model. It is the first to adopt PSA (Peugeot Citroën Group)'s new-generation platform, "EMP2," which is also used in sister brand Citroën's new "C4 Picasso" and other models, boasting low environmental impact and high fuel efficiency.
As a body variation of the 308, the "308SW" wagon model, also available for the current 308, makes its appearance. Its overall length is extended by approximately 30 cm, and the luggage capacity is 610 liters in standard configuration, compared to 470 liters for the hatchback model. Furthermore, the rear seats can be folded with a single action from the luggage compartment side, creating a full-flat space and enhancing the wagon's unique utility.
At its European launch, it will be offered with gasoline and diesel engines compliant with Euro 6 standards. Among these, the diesel engine called BlueHDi, which offers the best fuel efficiency, boasts a low environmental impact with CO2 emissions of just 85g/km.
The new 308 SW will be manufactured at the Sochaux plant in France, with deliveries in Europe scheduled to begin around spring.
