Two Electric Motors Deliver 400ps and 700Nm

The Jaguar I-PACE concept, Jaguar's first EV, was unveiled using virtual reality at two venues, Los Angeles and London, as a preview event for the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The design, led by Design Director Ian Callum and his team, resulted in an SUV look distinct from the F-PACE.

The powertrain features two electric motors, producing a maximum output of 400ps and a maximum torque of 700Nm, comparable to the F-TYPE SVR. It boasts all-wheel drive and an announced 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) acceleration time of 4 seconds. Jaguar claims a range of 500 km on a full charge with its 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

For rapid charging, an 80% charge can be achieved in 90 minutes using a 50kW DC charger, with a full charge taking an additional two hours. For home charging, plugging in overnight is said to provide over 50 km of range.

The interior is equipped with two touchscreens and accommodates five occupants.

The I-PACE concept will have its world premiere at the Los Angeles Auto Show, opening on November 16th, with the production model slated for 2018.
