In 2009, the "Renault Mégane" underwent a full model change, evolving into its third generation. Alongside the series' model change, the wagon body model also saw a complete transformation, becoming the "Estate."

The model showcased Renault's considerable ambition, offering a choice of eight diesel and six gasoline engines, totaling fourteen powertrain options for the European market. Regrettably, the release of the "Estate" in Japan was postponed at that time.
