The "Fit EV Concept," an electric vehicle based on the Fit and unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in December 2010, is slated for release in 2012, with plans for introduction into the Japanese and American markets. Simultaneously announced was a plug-in hybrid platform intended for use in the next-generation Accord and other models.

Both will be displayed at this year's Shanghai Auto Show, marking their first public appearance in China.

The overarching concept for Honda's booth at the show is "Mobility for the Earth." Alongside the Fit EV Concept, the exhibition will highlight Honda's commitment to a future low-carbon mobility society by showcasing vehicles developed with reduced CO2 emissions in mind, including the Fit Hybrid, and the Insight and CR-Z hybrid cars scheduled for release in China in 2012.

Furthermore, a technical display model of the IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) hybrid system, featuring a lithium-ion battery, will make its world premiere.

In the challenging circumstances following the Great East Japan Earthquake, we eagerly anticipate Honda's new proposals for the future of mobility.
