At the motor show, while car manufacturers from around the world compete to unveil new models, the hostesses, clad in glamorous costumes, are also present, filling the venue with energy and excitement to capture the attention of men. In this fourth report from the Paris Salon, we will focus on the women who have always graced the show with their splendor.

The Cuties of the Paris Salon

During the bubble economy, working as a "companion" at the Tokyo Motor Show was popular among young women. At the Paris Motor Show, while not as flashy, there were still charming young women adding to the glamour. "How do you choose the girls who stand next to the cars? We make sure they don't deviate too much from the image. And it's important that the costumes we provide suit their look,"

a PR representative from one manufacturer told us. This concept was vividly realized by Maserati and Abarth, brands belonging to the same group. Their adjacent booths made the contrast striking. The Maserati companions, adorned with sparkling accessories, made us wonder if they were customers or models, prompting us to confirm with Maserati before requesting a photo.

Lexus, dressed in bold costumes

Abarth, as a brand that handles (very) hot versions of Fiat cars, has a racy image. Healthy young women, with their racing suit-like costumes partially removed at the waist, dressed in a way that men would find appealing, cheerfully posed for photos.

While some booths do not feature hostesses, as mentioned earlier, it's interesting how the brand's image is reflected in the women themselves. Toyota Motor Corporation's costumes were precisely for the show, familiar from events like the Tokyo Motor Show. They were quite serious (though Lexus did show some shoulder). Wandering around the booths between shows, admiring the women, is one of the pleasures of an auto show.
