The EXALT with its Sharkskin Body

Ahead of the Beijing Motor Show in China, Peugeot will hold the world premiere of its concept car, the "EXALT," on the 10th of this month.Teaser images released in Januarywere covered entirely in cloth, making its appearance unconfirmable, but it has now finally been revealed.

This EXALT is a study model following theONYX" announced in 2012, and evokes the near-future models envisioned by Peugeot.



The most noteworthy point in the release announced this time is the body's surface treatment. From the C-pillar back (the red part), a material processing that gives a sharkskin-like texture has been applied, while the front section is boldly left with exposed metal. The interior was handled by "PINWU," a design collective of three artists based in China, who adopted a new material of twill weave combining natural wool, aged leather, steel, and ebony.

The powertrain features the "Hybrid4" 4WD hybrid system, combining a gasoline engine and electric motor, with a maximum output of 340 hp.
