Tokyo Motor Show's Idol Arrives
More than just an iconic model, MINI, which now represents the premium compact segment, is finally undergoing a model change to its third generation. This new MINI promises to fuse exhilarating driving, next-generation car infotainment, and premium quality into a compact body.
The unveiling is on Monday, November 18, 2013.
This date marks the 107th birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis, the pioneering designer of the original Mini, whose concept of a compact front-wheel-drive car with a transversely mounted engine continues to influence the MINI of today.
The venue for the world premiere will be MINI's production plant in Oxford, England. Furthermore, an event called the "International Premier Exhibition" will be held simultaneously in Tokyo and Los Angeles during the week of November 18th.
And on November 20th, the new MINI is scheduled to appear at the Tokyo Motor Show.
Sales will begin in the first quarter of 2014.
The photos released this time are covered, but it is likely that the interior and exterior design will be close to the concept model announced recently, theMINI Vision.
