The "Q50," from Infiniti, the luxury brand operated by Nissan Motor Corporation for overseas markets, made its European premiere. The Q50 is a sister model to the "Skyline." Previously, the lineup included a 3.7-liter V6 gasoline engine model (maximum output 328ps) and a hybrid model combining a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an electric motor (system output 364ps, CO2 emissions 145g/km).
Now, a model equipped with a 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, jointly developed by Renault-Nissan and Daimler, which owns Mercedes-Benz, has joined the lineup. This positions the Q50 competitively in the D-segment, which also features flagship models from premium brands such as Mercedes-Benz's C-Class", BMW's "3 Series", Audi's "A4", and Cadillac's "ATS".
The maximum output of this new engine is 170ps, with a maximum torque of 400Nm. CO2 emissions are reported to be below 115g/km.
Furthermore, a video released concurrently with this announcement reveals that F1 Champion Sebastian Vettel, from Infiniti Red Bull Racing, was deeply involved in the development of the Q50, particularly in refining its handling and suspension. This is a model honed by an exceptionally distinguished test driver.
