Introducing the Four-Wheel-Drive Panda with Enhanced Off-Road Capability

The Panda 4x4, Fiat's sole 4WD offering in the A-segment, is a compact SUV designed for all-around performance from city driving to off-road excursions, and it will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show.



With dimensions of 3,680mm in length, 1,670mm in width, and 1,600mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,300mm, the compact body, which Fiat describes as a "mini SUV," features sophisticated four-wheel-drive systems. These include "ESC (Electronic Stability Control)" that adjusts its control program based on road conditions, "Torque on Demand" for optimal torque distribution, and "ELD (Electronic Locking Differential)" to prevent wheel spin at speeds below 50 km/h.




To enhance its off-road capability, the vehicle's ride height is raised compared to the two-wheel-drive base model. It comes standard with 15-inch wheels fitted with 175/65 Mud & Snow (M+S) tires.



The suspension features MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, both newly developed specifically for the Panda 4x4. Compared to the previous generation, it is lighter, offering improved off-road performance, ride comfort, and quietness.



Two engine options are available: a 0.9-liter "TwinAir" turbo engine producing 85ps and a 1.3-liter "MultiJet2" diesel turbo engine producing 75ps. Both feature an engine auto-stop function. The transmission is a dedicated 6-speed unit with an extra-low first gear designed for steep inclines and rough terrain.



Two body colors are offered: the pastel "Sicilia Orange" and the metallic "Toscana Green."



Details of this vehicle are scheduled to be announced at the Paris Salon (Paris Motor Show), which begins on September 29.
