A Sports Car Bearing a Legendary Name Finally Reveals Its Form
As OPENERS has reported on several occasions, the production model of Jaguar's new two-seater sports car, theF-Type"F-Type," will finally be unveiled at the Paris Salon, which begins on September 27.
The car has been a frequent subject of news, and a camouflaged prototype appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 28, generating buzz with its full-throttle demonstration.
Now, it will have its world premiere at the Paris Salon, finally allowing us to see its true, uncamouflaged form.
Previous announcements indicated the inclusion of a 380ps version of the 3-liter V6, a high-output variant representing a new engine lineup for the brand. However, it has now been officially announced that a 340ps V6 version and a 5-liter V8 will also be offered. All these engines will be supercharged and paired with an 8-speed transmission.
The recently released movie, though still featuring camouflage, showcases the F-Type in actual driving scenes and during its production process in the factory. It also allows us to hear the engine sound, which has been meticulously tuned for its acoustic quality.
In the movie, Vehicle Line Director Ian Hoban states, "Jaguar sports cars carry immense global expectations. It is gratifying to breathe life into the many characteristics developed through virtual simulation and imbue them into the actual vehicle." He also revealed that prototype cars, built using data from these simulations, have been driven on roads across the UK for final testing.
Jaguar's test team is currently making final adjustments, which, according to Mr. Hoban, are now only a few percent from completion.
We eagerly anticipate seeing Jaguar's new two-seater sports car in Paris this September, its first such offering in approximately 50 years since the "E-Type."
