Three New Engines

The new Lutecia (Clio) will offer a lineup of three engines, all newly developed. The 'Energy TCe 90' is Renault's first 900cc, 3-cylinder turbo engine, producing a maximum output of 90ps. It generates 90% of its maximum torque of 135Nm from a low 1,650rpm. In terms of environmental impact, it boasts excellent performance with a fuel economy of 4.3ℓ/100km (approximately 23.2km/ℓ) and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.

Meanwhile, the 1.5-liter diesel engine, 'Energy dCi 90,' delivers a maximum output of 90ps and 220Nm of torque. It claims even higher environmental performance with a fuel economy of 3.2ℓ/100km (approximately 31.25km/ℓ) and CO2 emissions of 83g/km.

The most powerful model, the 'TCe 120,' set to arrive in early 2013, is a 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces a maximum output of 120ps and 190Nm of torque from 1,750rpm. This will be paired with Renault's first dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission for its small cars, known as EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch).

Renault Design Renaissance

Renault is launching its 'Renault Design Renaissance,' which incorporates design elements from its concept cars, starting with this Lutecia. Indeed, the exterior of the Lutecia reflects the design of the concept car 'DeZir,' evident in the black lines extending left and right from the central Renault logo, and the LED daytime running lights positioned below them.

Standard equipment includes Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phones and portable audio players, and USB ports. Opting for the 'R-Link' package adds a 7-inch wide touchscreen display to the center console. This display not only shows navigation but also allows for online downloading of applications to add functionality and customization of the home screen. Renault describes it as being akin to embedding a tablet device like an 'iPad' or 'Android' directly into the dashboard.
