Aventador J Unveiled Ahead of Geneva Motor Show

The Aventador J, a speedster version of the Aventador, has been revealed at the Volkswagen Group's special preview evening held prior to the Geneva Motor Show. Its extremely open styling, lacking even a windshield, had already captured the attention of automotive enthusiasts worldwide since overseas media broke the leak.

Extremely Open, Utterly Powerful

"Today, there are many rules in car manufacturing, making challenges difficult. However, even within these constraints, Lamborghini can offer dreams and the future to people. The Aventador J is proof of that."

Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, who appeared alongside the Aventador J at the special preview evening hosted by the Volkswagen Group prior to the Geneva Motor Show, is said to have stated this.

The body dimensions—4,890mm long, 2,030mm wide, and 1,100mm high—are close to those of the Aventador. It is only 110mm longer and 36mm lower. However, its styling is striking, with the lowest ground clearance in Lamborghini's history, and the highest points being the rearview mirror extending from the center and the safety bars behind the seats.

The front is slightly more tapered than the Aventador's, and the arrangement of the blades in the enlarged openings differs somewhat from the Aventador.

There is no windshield in front of the driver and passenger. The V12 engine, producing a maximum output of 700ps (515kW), gives the car, with its dry weight of 1,575kg, a top speed exceeding 300km/h. However, the only device protecting occupants from the resulting wind force is a small wind deflector. Lamborghini states that one must be prepared for wind forces comparable to those experienced on a sports bike.

Behind the special seats, made with a fabric called "carbon skin" created by impregnating epoxy resin with carbon fiber, safety bars extend, creating a flowing line distinct from the coupe. True to Lamborghini's style, the doors, which open upwards, are thinner than the Aventador's, and the side windows are extremely small. A diffuser is fitted at the rear.

The body color is a special red unique to this car. Inside the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear five-spoke alloy wheels, small carbon fiber fans are fitted for brake cooling.

This Aventador J, like the Lamborghini Iota that inspired its "J" designation, is a one-off and has already been sold for over 2.2 million Euros. The world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show promises to be a truly unique opportunity to witness this automotive work of art.
